Professional info
I am 24 years old with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University and an All-Level Teaching Certification for Texas. I am a hard-working (and playing) artist and teacher in Austin, TX. I want to work in a positive environment that promotes learning for students and myself.
I have been working since I was 13 years old and held many jobs. Right now I work as an artist, a teaching artist with Creative Action, an assistant handy-woman, and a bartender at Slab BBQ. Most of all I love making people happy!

I work as an assistant handy-woman fixing minor damages, installing things, and painting interior and exterior in homes and businesses.
Substitute Teacher
Austin, TX
August 2015 - June 2016
I worked as a substitute teacher for IDEA Public Schools (Allan and Rundburg campuses) and Austin ISD for all grade levels. I held two long-term substitute jobs in Title-1 elementary art classrooms:
-Graham Elementary School December 2015-January 2016 (8 weeks).
-Traveling between Padron & Campbell Elementary Schools (50/50) April-June 2016 (6 weeks).
In both of these jobs I had about 400 students in a 3-day rotation. I created, taught and graded the curriculum, organized the classrooms, displayed student artwork & art history, all while learning classroom management. These (plus random substituting and student teaching) were amazing and challenging experiences!

Slab BBQ & Beer
Austin, TX
2014 - present
I first started working for Slab during summer 2014 while they were renovating. I painted the front of the building, all the old furniture inside, and eventually started making signs for the restaurant! After they opened, I started working at the counter making food and running the cash register. Since June 2015 I started bartending beer and wine. I love this place so much!
Education
Texas State University
San Marcos, TX 2009 - 2014

I loved attending this school! There I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an All-Level Teaching Certification for Texas. This means I happily studied every form of art they offer and how to teach it. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. During college I was also a founding member of a student volunteer organization called the Human Envionmental Animal Team (H.E.A.T.). I held two leadership positions for 3 years with up to 250 members each semester. We focused on postivity in volunteering, fundraising and donating to anything that has to do with human, environmental, and/or animal welfare locally and internationally.
Student Teaching
Austin, TX 2014
International High School
Daniel Shaetz is awesome. He is the only art teacher at International High School. He took me under his wing for 7 weeks to teach art to international students from up to 18 different countries. Most students didn't speak English yet so this was a huge challenge that Mr. Schaetz helped me accomplish. I ended up developing a rapport with the students and it was a rewarding experience overall!
Govalle Elementary School
Jennifer Schroeder is an art teacher at Govalle Elementary School. She is amazing and showed me much about classroom organization and teaching art to kids preK-5th grade. She is basically a not-much-older version of me. I aspire to teach like Ms. Schroeder!
McCallum High School
Austin, TX 2005-2009
I was accepted into McCallum's Fine Arts Academy early on. I was able to major in Visual Arts where I learned about photography, jewerly making, printmaking and more. This school is where I started blossoming into a colorful, out-going, artistic young lady and following my passions!
